More great restaurants in Barcelona

I’m back in Barcelona, and have been trying out some more restaurants. I’ve been told that catalonians don’t go in for tapas, and the tapas restaurants in Barcelona are only for tourists, but I’m still a fan. For a great tapas restaurant, try Flauta in eixample, an unpretentious, welcoming place, great for something to eat before going out for a drink in the area. Or for something a little more classy, my two discoveries this week are Botega Sepulveda and Los Caracoles

something’s vibrating

Seeing as I’m spending time on one of the earths biggest fault lines, I’ve been spending the last few weeks feverishly waiting for an earthquake. Unfortunately every time someone walks down the corridor, my desk seems to vibrate. Anyway, at least I’ve found a site where I can check, next time someone walks down the corridor.

So I’m spending the next 6 weeks in california, which would be great fun, if I wasnt stuck in an industrial estate 50 miles south of San francisco. At least I’m getting out at the weekend.

Some friends have gone off on a years trip around the world. I just got an email with some incredible photos. I remember seeing a similar photo, taken at dawn or dusk a few years ago. Lets see if I can find it on the net…

OK, so I’ve got this mad idea to cycle round the mediteranean. Just looking at a few maps of the region. Seems like its about 10 000 kms. Now could I get 6 months off work for this ?
